Parish Councillor Vacancy – Co-option Notice

We currently have a vacancy for a Parish Councillor at West Chiltington Parish Council.

In order to apply for the vacant position, you should complete an application form, should you be unable to download the form one can be obtained from clerk@wcpc.org.uk, in completing the form you will be confirming that you are eligible to stand for co-option and you should include a short statement explaining the reasons why you wish to become a parish councillor. The statement will then be circulated to all councillors prior to the next meeting.

Your application should reach the Parish Clerk five clear working days prior to the next Council meeting, which are held on the second Tuesday of every month, for this co-option the closing date being Thursday 14th April 2022.

Candidates will be invited to speak for up to 3 minutes at the Parish Council meeting to be held on Tuesday 14th June 2022 after which a vote by Councillors will take place.

If there is more than one applicant, voting shall be via an exhaustive vote and all applicants present will be invited to speak for up to 3 minutes at the meeting prior to the vote in accordance with the council’s co-option policy.
