West Chiltington Community Speedwatch
One of the most frequent complaints heard by the Council over the years relates to speeding vehicles in the parish. If this is something that concerns you, and you would like to be able to try and do something about it, why not consider joining our Community Speedwatch Scheme? A group has been formed and we are awaiting delivery of loan equipment so that the volunteers already registered can receive some group training and then begin monitoring sessions. If you would like to find out more and possibly get involved yourself, please go to Community Speedwatch to sign up with your details and to complete the registration process.
From there you will be contacted by the Co-ordinators and invited along to a training meeting. We are confident there will soon be a Speedwatch Group operating in and around the parish of West Chiltington. The more people who join up, the more areas can be covered. The good news is that the majority of the roads where speeding appears to have been most prevalent have been assessed and sites identified for monitoring. All we require now is volunteers willing to give up a small amount of time to carry out this valuable work to make our village roads and lanes, safer and more pleasant to live in.
