Smyth’s Educational Foundation

The Smyth’s Educational Foundation was determined by an Order of Charity on 6 October 1903, from the Charity of William Smyth, founded by Will dated 12 September 1634 with the aim of providing educational grants to young people living within West Chiltington Parish.

Over time, the charity’s modest endowment has not kept pace with inflation and the increased cost of living and there are very limited funds available to respond to applications. For this reason, the Trustees have decided to pause making grants for the time being, while they consider what options are available to put the Trust on a more stable financial footing
